We believe that climbing gets more rewarding when it’s done with purpose. Our mission is to offer structured training that’s not only effective, but deeply enjoyable — helping climbers stay healthy, stay motivated, and reach their goals faster.
Every plan we create is grounded in the best evidence that exercise science has to offer and tailored to your unique goals, schedule, and preferences. Let us remove the guesswork and help you train with confidence.
Because climbing progress shouldn’t be left up to chance, and training shouldn’t feel like punishment. With the right plan, structure becomes freedom — the freedom to reach your potential.

About Upwise
Founder & Head Coach
Seth S. Gourson
Climbing has been one of my greatest sources of joy for over 15 years. With a background in athletic training, psychology, and business, coaching lets me combine everything I love into one practice.
Early on, my climbing wasn’t so structured. I mostly showed up, tried hard, and hoped progress would follow. That path led to occasional gains, but I was definitely taking the scenic route, spotted with injuries and demotivating plateaus.
Then the pandemic hit, and I detoured into triathlon. What started as a “keep-me-sane” hobby spiraled into qualifying twice for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. Endurance training taught me the value of structure, consistency, and purpose—a kind of discipline I’d never really applied to climbing.
When I came back to the rock, I brought that structure with me. Within a year, I’d climbed past long-held plateaus and felt more motivated than ever.
Now, I coach climbers to experience that same breakthrough — helping you build a plan that’s evidence-based, sustainable, and tailored to your goals. Because when your training has purpose, every session feels like progress.
Let’s unlock your potential, and keep you moving upwise.
